Dream To Host March Of Dimes Celebration

ATLANTA - In partnership with the March of Dimes, the Atlanta Dream encourages fans to donate change as part of the “Change for America’s Babies” initiative prior to the team’s game on Sunday, June 22, 2008. Monetary donations will be accepted at the gates prior to the Dream’s game against the Detroit Shock. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 pm at Philips Arena.

The June 22 game is designated as the “March of Dimes Celebration” game at the arena. During halftime, the Dream will recognize the top teams from the “March for Babies” walk held earlier this spring at Centennial Olympic Park. Other in-game elements will also promote the March of Dimes’ campaign to ensure healthy lives for all babies. Lower level tickets are available for $20 with $10 donated back to March of Dimes. The Dream tipped off their inaugural season at Philips Arena with back-to-back sellouts on May 23 and May 25, 2008. The team was officially announced as the 14th team in the WNBA on October 17, 2007. The Dream are members of the WNBA’s Eastern conference which also includes the Chicago Sky, Connecticut Sun, Detroit Shock, Indiana Fever, New York Liberty and Washington Mystics.
