SEATTLE STORM SIGNS GUARD KIMBERLY BECK
FOR REMAINDER OF 2008 WNBA REGULAR SEASON

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm announced today that guard Kimberly Beck of George Washington University has been signed for the remainder of the 2008 WNBA regular season.

Beck, selected by the Storm with the 36th pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft, played in 15 games earlier this season for the team. Beck was released from the Storm roster on June 28, 2008.

A 5-8 guard, Beck was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year during her senior season. She was also selected to the All-Conference First Team and the All-Defensive team for the second straight year. She was also selected to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s All-American Honorable Mention team.

The Atlanta, Ga., native averaged 12.8 points and 6.2 assists per game her senior season. She was an effective shooter, knocking down 40 percent of her field goals and 79.5 percent from the free throw line. She also averaged 2.15 steals per game. Beck was one of three finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Award, and was named to the Associated Press All-American Honorable Mention Team in 2007.
