Silver Stars Sign Adrianne Ross and Brittany Wilkens for Remainder of 2008 Season

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Silver Stars have signed former TCU guard Adrianne Ross and former Sacramento Monarch Brittany Wilkins for the remainder of the 2008 season, including playoffs, Head Coach and General Manager Dan Hughes announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contracts have not been disclosed.

Ross, a 5’8” guard, was one of the last players waived from the Silver Stars roster following training camp this season. She appeared in one regular season game, playing four minutes at Sacramento. During the pre-season, Ross scored 16 points against Detroit and 13 against Houston, averaging 24 minutes per game. At TCU, she ranked second on the Frogs’ career scoring chart with 1,725 career points. She also owns school records for steals (339), games played (135) and field goal attempts (1,562).

Wilkins, a 6’3” center, was an honorable mention All-Big 12 performer at Iowa State where she averaged 16.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game as a senior. She appeared in four games for the Sacramento Monarchs in 2006 and spent the 2007-08 off-season playing in Switzerland where she averaged 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in EuroCup play. Wilkins was with the Silver Stars throughout the 2008 training camp, but the team waived her on May 15.
