Quinnipiac Field Hockey Loses To Lafayette , 3-1
MacKenzie Liptak Scores First Career Goal Kelly Hilovsky put the Leopards on the board first when Jaclyn DiSanti received a pass at the top of the circle off a corner. DiSanti dropped a pass to the left of the goal to Hilovsky who made a nice move around the Bobcats’ defender and slipped a shot past Quinnipiac goalkeeper Jenna Grossman ( Flanders , N.J. ) to the lower right corner of the cage. DiSanti then scored less than two minutes into the second half at the 36:48 mark when she blasted a shot from the right side of the net to give Lafayette a 2-0 lead. Liptak’s goal cut the Lafayette lead to 2-1 at the 56:27 mark. Lauren Hartnett ( Walpole , Mass. ) delivered a perfect pass off the corner to junior Katie Van Nostrand ( Derry , N.H.0 at the top of the circle. Van Nostrand fired a shot on goal that was on target to the left of Lafayette ’s Kelsey Andersen in goal. Liptak was able to redirect the shot to the opposite corner for Quinnipiac’s first goal of the season and her first career goal. Hilovsky added an insurance goal for Lafayette when she took a pass from Alison Schoch and scored to the lower right corner. Next up for Quinnipiac is a trip to Boston , Mass. on Friday, Sept. 12 to take on Northeastern University at 2 p.m. The Bobcats then head in the opposite direction on Sunday, Sept. 14 when they head to Columbia for a 1 p.m. start. |
