CHICAGO –The Chicago Sky today announced that Brooke Queenan has been waived.

Queenan, a 6’2” forward from Boston College, was signed by the Sky on April 18. She missed three games in June due to an inflammatory process in the lower right quadrant of her abdomen. Queenan appeared in four games for the Sky, averaging 0.7 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.

She was named to the All-ACC Second Team her senior year and led the Eagles with 14.8 points and 8 rebounds per game. She was selected by the Connecticut Sun in the 2006 WNBA Draft, appearing in four pre-season games. In 2007, Queenan was invited to the Seattle Storm’s training camp and was waived on May 1. During the 2007-08 off-season, she played overseas for Team Aris Haroglou in Greece.

The Sky is one of seven independently-owned teams in the WNBA, the world’s longest-running women’s professional sports league. The Sky celebrated its inaugural season in 2006, and finished a successful sophomore season with a 14-20 record and guard Armintie Price named WNBA Rookie of the Year. The team chose 6’6” LSU star Sylvia Fowles with the number two pick in the 2008 WNBA Draft. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.chicagosky.net.
