Rutgers Women’s Basketball Unveils Television Schedule
Scarlet Knights Scheduled for 13 National/Regional Appearances in 2008-09 The BIG EAST released today its entire women’s basketball broadcast schedule which includes two games on CBS Sports, 14 appearances on ESPN/ESPN2, 31 on ESPNU and 25 on CBS College Sports Networks. The Scarlet Knights will make one of the two CBS appearances, entertaining Tennessee before a national audience on the network on Jan. 3 at 2:00 p.m. RU has three appearances on ESPN2, beginning with a Dec. 8 home contest versus Georgia in the Jimmy V Classic. Rutgers travels to Maryland on Sunday, Feb. 15 for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. The game is part of February Frenzy and the Pink Zone initiative, a global, unified effort by the WNCA to raise breast cancer awareness. The final showing on ESPN2 is the last game of the regular season, a home meeting with Connecticut on March 2. The Scarlet Knights perform on ESPNU on three occasions. RU takes on Army on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden. The contest at Louisville (Jan. 11) will be broadcast on ESPNU as will a home date with Marquette (Jan. 18). Rutgers will make its first appearance of the year on CBS College Sports with a contest at Temple on Dec. 1. In total, five CBS College Sports are on the slate. The Scarlet Knights are the BIG EAST Regional Game of the Week on Jan. 31, a home game versus USF. The Scarlet Knights will officially begin their season on Friday, Nov. 14, against Saint Joseph’s University. Tip-off time has been set for 5:00 p.m. at the Louis Brown Athletic Center.
