INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever snapped a two-game losing streak Tuesday night as they overwhelmed the Chicago Sky early and held them off in the final minutes, winning 74-67. The Fever were led by forward Tamika Catchings, who came off the bench to score 18 points in just under 25 minutes. It was the first time in the Fever’s past five games that Catchings had come off the bench – the Fever are 1-3 in the four games in which she has started.

Fever head coach Lin Dunn was excited to see Catchings’ performance off the bench. “I thought tonight was the best game we’d seen from her overall – it looked like the Tamika Catchings of old," she said. "I was thrilled to see her play that well.”

Indiana center Tammy Sutton-Brown added 11 points and 12 rebounds for her third double-double of the season, and the second in her past three games. Fever guard Katie Douglas added 12 points, including hitting 2-3 from beyond the arc.

The Fever were lifted to victory in large part due to their bench. With starters Tully Bevilaqua and Ebony Hoffman not at 100 percent, the bench kept the lead at double-digits for the Fever throughout most of the game. Four Fever bench players were in for more than ten minutes, with Catchings and reserve guard Latoya Bond each recording more then 20 minutes. At the end of the night, the Fever bench ended up outscoring the Sky bench 32-14.

The Sky were led in both scoring and rebounding by forward Candice Dupree, who had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Dupree headed up a three-pronged attack that featured guards Dominique Canty and Jia Perkins scoring 16 and 13 points respectively. No other member of the Sky scored more than five points.

The Fever remain home over the holiday weekend and will host the Connecticut Sun on Saturday, July 5th. Earlier this season, the Fever defeated the Sun 75-46 in Connecticut – the Sun have since comprised a 13-5 record and sit stop the WNBA Eastern Conference. The Sky fall to 5-10 and will make the last stop on their three-game road trip in Atlanta on Saturday, July 5th.
